FALL SURVIVAL

According to the CDC "Every second of every day, an older adult (age 65+) suffers a fall in the U.S.—making falls the leading cause of injury and injury death in this age group. One out of four older adults will fall each year in the United States, making falls a public health concern, particularly among the aging population."

FITNESS DEPOT is now offering fall survival classes to teach you how to avoid injury in the event of a fall.

The class will include:

  • YOGACHILATES: a combination of Yoga, Tai Chi and Pilates to develop static balance, dynamic balance, core strength and flexibility.
  • PLYOMETRICS: a system of jumping exercises to help develop bone strength and coordination.
  • RESISTANCE TRAINING: to help develop muscular strength.
  • CAPOEIRA: a Brazilian martial art that teaches you how to recover from falls by controlling your momentum and impulse
